The Lagos State House of Representatives has passed a bill that would improve the current law governing the national lottery and gaming

    Mudashiru Obasa During the third reading of the bill, House Speaker Mudashiru Obasa explained that the proposed new law would effectively harmonize all other laws relating to gaming and lottery activities in the state.

    In addition, the bill is expected to contribute to the establishment of the Lagos State Lottery and Game Authority.

    The new amendments were announced on Twitter by the new media department in the office of the Lagos State Assembly Speaker, which states:

    The Lagos Parliament passed a bill, enacted a law, and established the Lagos State Lottery and Game Board, in order to integrate and unify all game activities and related laws in Lagos State, and to regulate and control all game activities into law.

    The Lagos State Lottery Board (LSLB) was established in 2004 under the Cap L89 2004 Laws of Lagos State, now known as the Lagos State Lottery (Amendment) Act. This regulatory agency is responsible for including, but not limited to, regulating lotteries, scratch cards and interactive games, game machine operators and sports betting.
